After last night’s party, Rafa ordered a great paella which was wonderful. Made in Valencia. Now I understand why he always praises the paella they make where he was born wherever we go. He’s right.

It was my friend Nere’s birthday today and, as you can see from the photo, a lot of people came! It was a great party and we were drunk with joy.

I’m in France, in a city called Mont de Marsan. It is known for its flamenco enthusiasts and I have come to the 21st Flamenco Festival.

I was here before twice, with Paco de Lucía, in 1990 and 1994. This time I have come to present "Origen Flamenco".

I opened the 30 Nits de Sabadell festival today in Castillo de Can Feu. As you know, I was born in Sabadell and the audience was absolutely charming. It’s nice to perform in your home town... Thank you Sabadell!

On the AVE train from Madrid to Barcelona, I met my friend and great musician Iñigo Goldaracena. Some time ago, we did a tour with my third album, "Punto de Encuentro". I enjoyed both how he played and his friendship.

Trip to Istanbul

I travelled to Istanbul today.
I will performing at the CCR Theatre tomorrow, presenting "Origen Flamenco".

I was here a couple of years ago when my last album, "Suite Iberia - Albéniz por Cañizares", was released.

It’s a beautiful city. I enjoy coming back because, as well as being marvellous, the people are always very friendly.

We went to the National Auditorium today as guests of Master Mauricio Sotelo, for the premier of his latest composition called "Arde el alba" (translated, it means Dawn in Flames). But I enjoyed it so much that I prefer to call it “Soul in Flames". Congratulations, Mauricio!

The Spanish National Ballet’s 30th Anniversary

Mariko and I were invited today by Master José Antonio to the presentation of the Spanish National Ballet’s 30th Anniversary, with the "Escuela Bolera" show.

As you can see, we went out to dinner afterwards. Mariko is missing from the photo... because she was the photographer... Perhaps another time...

The concerts start today. They are for children aged 3-9 and explain the history of the guitar. The show is entitled "Guitarra Tarra".

Trip to Gran Canaria 2009

We travelled to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria today. I came across Tao at Madrid Airport. He is the percussionist I went on tour with a few years ago.

We went to the Alfredo Kraus Theatre in the afternoon to rehearse with Rafa Villalba and the other musicians. Starting tomorrow, we give concerts to 5,500 children from the island!
